Postural restoration is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on restoring proper alignment and balance within the body to alleviate pain and improve function.
At Onion River Chiropractic, we offer postural restoration as part of our comprehensive approach to patient care. Our doctors and healthcare professionals use a variety of techniques to assess and correct postural imbalances. This may include exercises to strengthen weak muscles, stretches to release tight muscles, and hands-on adjustments to realign the spine and joints.
Postural restoration can be particularly effective for addressing chronic pain and dysfunction caused by poor posture or structural imbalances. By correcting these imbalances and restoring proper alignment, patients can experience improved mobility, reduced pain and inflammation, and a greater sense of wellbeing.
We believe in taking a holistic approach to healthcare that addresses the root causes of pain and dysfunction. If you’re struggling with chronic pain or postural imbalances, our practitioners can work with you to develop a customized treatment plan that meets your individual needs and goals.
Ergonomic Advice
Ergonomics are a very important part of our day-to-day lives.
Ergonomics range from: posture while driving to how your workplace station is set up, to how you sit on your couch/chair at home at the end of a workday. At Onion River Chiropractic we are experts in providing proper individualized ergonomic training and advice. Workplace setup can be a common cause of neck, upper back, mid back, and low back pain. Many times adjusting the height of the computer screen to be eye level can fix neck pain associated with computer use.
Other times we may need to change the desk height or chair positioning. Neck pain can be caused by sitting for extended periods of time without proper low back support. Ergonomics are important at home in addition to the workplace, whether it is posture and positioning when completing household chores and yard work to sitting on the couch at the end of the day.
We provide proper lifting technique advice and core stabilization exercises that help decrease the risk of workplace lifting and household injuries. Many newer cars come with added lumbar support, but that isn’t always enough to properly support your low back. After evaluating your low back complaint, we are able to provide suggestions to make extended driving more comfortable.
Ergonomics are important throughout the day no matter what task is being completed. We can help you go about your day in a more comfortable ergonomic way!
