Dry Needling Acupuncture therapy offered at Onion River Chiropractic
Dry Needling Technique is a form of acupuncture treatment which addresses chronic muscular conditions such as tight bands, trigger points, and muscular adhesions.
We utilize thin filament needles (disposable, single use) which are inserted quickly and usually painlessly, into the muscle to help facilitate a healing process in damaged or inflamed soft tissues. Dry needling technique is a deep muscular therapy that can break up chronically tight musculature that massage may not be able to accomplish at times.
These therapies can be particularly effective for treating musculoskeletal pain, headaches, and other conditions. Our licensed and experienced practitioners use both dry needling and acupuncture as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses each patient’s unique needs and goals.
Dry needling involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into trigger points or “knots” in muscles, tendons, or ligaments. This can help alleviate pain and tension by releasing tight knots and improving blood flow and oxygenation to the affected area.
Acupuncture is a 3000+ year old system of healing that involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points along the body’s meridians, or energy pathways. This can help stimulate the body’s natural healing response and promote balance and harmony within the body. Acupuncture is often successful in treating a variety of conditions including: arthritis pain, sciatica, back/neck pain, forearm/shoulder/wrist pain, knee/ankle/foot pain, Tendonitis/bursitis conditions, Allergies/Immune System Deficiencies, and headaches.
We sometime use Acupuncture in a combination with chiropractic and soft tissue massage therapies to help resolve conditions. Or it may be more appropriate to treat the patient with acupuncture treatment alone. Acupuncture may be an insurance covered treatment under your health insurance plan. We also often will charge a reduced fee for acupuncture if it is used in concert with chiropractic manipulation treatment. Our practitioners will work with you to determine if these therapies are appropriate for your condition and develop a customized treatment plan that meets your individual needs.
